DIGITAL TWINS / TARGETS

Every target, seen from the drone.

A laser does not simply hit a drone. It has to hold its spot within 2 cm of one part long enough to break it: 0.2 s to blind the camera, 10 s to set off the payload. ORPHEUS models the target as a digital twin of its parts, and the drone fights back: it dodges, turns its camera away and spins. The laser can fire for 15 s at a time, then needs 10 s to cool down. Below, a C1 quadcopter flies 19 scenarios against one laser.

Note: this page shows a simplified example. In the ORPHEUS simulator we make a digital copy of the actual threat, with many more parameters than shown here.

19 SCENARIOS

Where the laser wins, and where it does not.

Head-on, the camera is the quickest kill once the drone is close enough for the spot to hold 2 cm. Drones that keep dodging stay ahead of the spot all the way in.
